1 In August 1973 the Archivo General was relocated from the Palacio Nacional on the Zócalo to the Antiguo Palacio de Comunicaciones, Tacuba 8, quite near the Palacio de Bellas Artes. To date only a portion of the documents have been moved, however. For information on the AGN, see Greenleaf, Richard E. and Meyer, Michael C., comps. and eds., Research in Mexican History. 4 Recent visits to the new Archive location at Tacuba 8, México 2, D.F. seem to indicate that this will be a lengthy process and that the Archivo Provisional may not be available to investigators on a regular basis.
