The international working group on disorders specifically associated with stress provided a revised grouping and revised versions for the following disorders: Post-traumatic stress disorder, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, prolonged grief disorder, adjustment disorder as well as two subtypes of attachment disorders in childhood and adolescence. Two recent papers in The Lancet (2013) and World Psychiatry (2013) present the rational and justification for these proposals. Field studies in six countries from all world regions are in preparation that investigate validity, reliability, and utility of the definitions and criteria by multi-method assessment in divers populations including samples from WHO-related humanitarian settings. Findings of a online field study completed in autumn 2013 on our proposals will be presented.
