In this presentation, Dr. Lineberry will describe practical strategies for management of suicide risk based on research literature. Specific topics covered will include identification and management of sleep problems as an independent risk factor for suicide, identification and management of agitation, pragmatic strategies to systematically manage means restriction in at risk patients, approaches to prescribing medications (e.g. opioids) to reduce risk and strategies to reduce risk associated with transitions from inpatient to outpatient. Translation of evidence to practice through examples will be used.
