Children and adolescents who self-identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender experience specific stressors in the juvenile justice system. Clinical and support services for youth who identify as members of sexual orientation and/or gender identity minority populations within child welfare and forensic systems will be reviewed, with particular focus on the comparative example of a North American major municipal context.
