The authors believe the conclusions presented in the article are unreliable due to accidental incorrect location labeling of the samples (ST30, ST31, ST39, ST38) and consequent incorrect longitude and latitude data recordings. As a result, the authors believe conclusions (2) and (3) may be invalid.

Due to this error, the authors have requested to retract this article. The first and corresponding authors initiated this retraction with the permission of all authors. The authors apologise to Geological Magazine and to its readers.
