The editors and staff of Horizons: The Journal of the College Theology Society mourn the loss of our beloved colleague and editorial board member, Professor Maureen Tilley, Professor of Early Christian History in the Theology Department of Fordham University.

Professor Tilley was a consummate professional whose exquisite scholarship was enriched by her personal warmth and the generous kindness she poured into each relationship.

As editors we depended on Maureen's keen insights and her skillfulness with manuscript reviews. As colleagues, we were the beneficiaries of her scholarship through her many publications, her conference presentations, her presidency of the North American Patristics Society (2005–6), and her devoted service to the College Theology Society on the Board of Directors (1994–97). In addition, she holds a special place of honor at our home institutions from her service as the Thomas F. Martin Saint Augustine Fellow at Villanova University and as a distinguished lecturer in the “Shared Roots, Divergent Paths” interreligious dialogue series at Iona College. We will miss her.

We extend our condolences to Maureen's husband, Professor Terrence Tilley, and their children.

May the angels go to greet her and may perpetual light shine upon her.
