Cuba acceded on 23 June 1999, without making any declaration or reservation, to the Protocol Additional to the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949, relating to the Protection of Victims of Non-International Armed Conflicts (Protocol II), adopted in Geneva on 8 June 1977.

The Protocol will come into force for Cuba on 23 December 1999.
