One misses particularly P. Green, ‘The First Sicilian Slave War’ (no. 20 (Nov. 1961), pp. 10–29, cf. too no. 22 (July 1962) pp. 87–92), reprinted in The Shadow of the Parthenon (London, 1972), pp. 193–215, but without detailed annotation.

2 Misprints are few and unimportant, though in E. L. Bowie's article many breathings on Greek proper names, correctly given in the original publication, have been unaccountably omitted.

3 It is surprising, however, that E. L. Bowie's article should not contain a single reference to the work of Louis Robert.
