On a Remarkable New Nematode, Lappetascaris lutjani gen. et sp. nov. (Anisakidae: Ascaridoidea) from Marine Fishes of Karachi and an Account of Thynnascaris inquies (Linton, 1901) n.comb. and Goezia intermedia n.sp.*

Extract

1. Three exceedingly interesting parasites of the super-family Ascaridoidea have been discussed in this paper. A new genus Lappetascaris is described from two different kinds of fish and a new subfamily has been established to include this genus. The latter is based on its peculiar head structures and the cuticle.

2. Thynnascaris inquies (Linton, 1901) n.comb, is reported for the first time since its original description, from the type host of a new locality.

3. Goezia intermedia n.sp. is described and a comparative study of the related species has been carried out.
