1 In passing we may note that Dr. Hertel is apparently mistaken in his statement (p. 15 f.) that the king's titles Matta-vilāsa, Avani-bhājana, Guna-bhara, and Śatru-malla are all derived from this play: the inscriptions seem to tell another story.
2 For example, the rendering of the opening stanza in πásawadattā, though based on Ganapati Śastrī's note, is, in our humble opinion, erroneous; and bhaddē is certainlynot “mein Kind”, but rather “my lady” (ib., p. 52).
