Microwave Curing and Drying of Cellular Concrete

Abstract

Traditionally the heating and curing of cellular concrete takes place in an autoclave. This building material is a thermal insulator so the curing and drying processes are energy and time consuming. Volumetric heating is an attractive method for improving the throughputs.

A feasibility study leads to the conclusion that microwave processing is not likely to be applied in a large scale production process.
