page 37 note 1 The performance, broadcast live in Holland, began at 8:16 p.m. Dutch time and ended at 12147 a.m. There were two intervals (approx. 2 5 and 20 min.') at the ends of Part I and Part II as they are noted in the score. The programme note put both intervals in the wrong place, probably misleading many of the 400 to 500 (est.) people in the hall.

page 38 note 2 Madge was scheduled to give the London première of O.C. at the St. Bartholomew's Festival on 28 June, but in the event only performed its third and final part. (Ed.)
