The authors are sorry to say that an error appears in the published version of the paper by Gao et al. ( Reference Gao, Xie and Jin 1 ).

In experiment 1: “(containing 20·07 and 30·94 mg/kg xanthophylls, as we determined, respectively)” should in fact read: “(containing 20·07 and 39·94 mg/kg xanthophylls, as we determined, respectively)”.
