The authors have identified the following errors, which are being corrected to ensure accuracy and clarity:

A period shall be placed at the end of the sentence that begins with ‘Malaysia's white flags…’.

The phrase ‘Still reeling from the scandal…’ shall read ‘Still reeling from the 1MDB scandal…’.

The first sentence of the section titled ‘Rule of law, authoritarian legacy, and the state-business nexus’ (p 64) shall be read as one sentence: Although Malaysia is a young democracy, it has some authoritarian characteristics, limited44 checks-and-balances and judicial independence has been curtailed.45
