Phloeocharinae is a small and likely non-monophyletic subfamily of rove beetles. The enigmatic genus Charhyphus Sharp, 1887 has long been placed in Phloeocharinae, whereas recent studies have found it to be phylogenetically very distant from the core members of this subfamily, suggesting the possibility that it actually deserves its own separate subfamily status. So far, the sole definitive fossil record for Charhyphus is known based on a single male from Eocene Baltic amber as represented by †Charhyphus balticus Shavrin, 2020. Here, we describe and illustrate another new Charhyphus species, †Charhyphus serratus sp. nov. Yamamoto & Shavrin, from Baltic amber based on a well-preserved female fossil. Considering the general proportions of the body and the head, this new species is most similar to †C. balticus. The new species differs from all known species by the development of strong serration of the lateral edges of the pronotum and features of the shape of the apical margin of the mesoventrite. By using X-ray micro-computed tomography, we succeeded in visualising not only the general habitus but also each individual body part, recovering a previously undocumented sclerite on the female internal genital segments in the genus. Morphological features of extinct and extant species of Charhyphus are briefly discussed. Figures of all extant Charhyphus species and a key for the genus are also provided. Our study is important for considering possible higher palaeodiversity, more common occurrence, and palaeobiogeography of Charhyphus.

The Diptera fauna from the late Eocene of the Isle of Wight (Bembridge Marls) is studied including redescriptions of formerly described material. All taxa of Orthoptera known from the latest Eocene deposits of the Isle of Wight are redescribed or discussed, based on the study of their type material. The following new taxa are described: Ontogryllus gen. nov., O. rossi sp. nov. (type species), Achetomorpha gen. nov., A. irregularis sp. nov. (type species), and Proeneopterotrypus gen. nov. The latter genus is here proposed for Pteroplistes danicus Rust, described from the Palaeocene/Eocene of Denmark, as this find is important for understanding the systematic position of the genus Eneopterotrypus Zeuner. Remarks about the taxonomy of the taxa studied, age of these deposits, and ecology are given.

One new genus and four new species of Chrysopidae are described from the Lower Cretaceous of Khasurty, Transbailakia (Russia): Mesypochrysa cannabina sp. nov.; M. naranica sp. nov.; Aberrantochrysa buryatica gen. & sp. nov.; and A. pulchella gen. & sp. nov. The abundance of Chrysopidae in Mesozoic localities is discussed.

Helius spiralensis sp. nov., is a very peculiar species of the genus Helius (Diptera: Limoniidae), with a characteristic morphology of hypopygium not found in other representatives of this genus. This is the second Helius species described from Early Cretaceous Álava amber (Spain), and one of the oldest representatives of the genus.

The first representative of Tipulomorpha in Early Eocene Cambay amber from India is described. The new find belongs to the genus Dicranomyia in the family Limoniidae. This genus has a worldwide distribution today and is relatively common in Eocene Baltic amber. A new species belonging to the subgenus Dicranomyia is described as Dicranomyia (Dicranomyia) indica sp. nov.

Lebanese amber contains a diverse biota from the Lower Cretaceous, and more than 150 families of arthropods have been reported as inclusions. Amongst these, caddisflies (Trichoptera) are very scarce inclusions, consisting of a few indeterminate fragments and only two inclusions that permit clear descriptions of new species. We describe the first two Trichoptera species from Lebanese amber, belonging respectively to Dipseudopsidae (Phylocentropus succinolebanensis n. sp.) and Ecnomidae (Ecnomus cretacia n. sp.). Previously, the oldest fossil representatives of both families were known from the Upper Cretaceous amber of New Jersey for Dipseudopsidae and from the Eocene Baltic amber for Ecnomidae.

A new family, Worcestobiidae fam. nov., is established for two Triassic fossil species of Mecoptera removed from the family Orthophlebiidae: Orthophlebia gigantea Tillyard, 1933 and O. haradai Ueda, 1991. A new genus, Worcestobia gen. nov., is erected and both species are transferred to this genus. The new taxa were established as a result of ongoing taxonomic work on Orthophlebiidae, one of the most problematic families within fossil Mecoptera, considered to be a paraphyletic group of species.

A new species of the genus Dicranomyia Stephens, 1829 (Diptera: Limoniidae) from Baltic amber is characterised, illustrated and described. This finding represents the second fossil of the subgenus Melanolimonia. The morphological features of the new species and the morphology comparison with its closest fossil relatives are discussed.

Late Eocene fossil Psocodea from the Isle of Wight are studied and classified within three new genera and seven species (Wightipsocus acourti (Cockerell 1921) gen. nov. et n. comb., Wightipsocus intasi gen. et sp. nov., Wightipsocus rossi gen et sp. nov., Awightipsocus jarzembowskii gen. et sp. nov., Awightipsocus megaloi gen. et sp. nov. Awightipsocus minimus gen. et sp. nov. and Wightimicropsocus inexpectatus gen. et sp. nov.) without however attributing them to any family. A key for fossil Psocodea from the Isle of Wight is given.

The trichopteran assemblage of the Late Eocene Bembridge Marls is revised. six species in five genera and four families are identified, with four species and two genera described as new: (Beraeidae: Beraeodes vectensis Cockerell, 1921 and B. anglicus Cockerell, 1921; Phryganeidae: Bembridgea insularia gen. sp. nov.; Polycentropodidae: ?Plectrocnemia incompleta Sukatsheva, sp. nov.; Philopotamidae: Wormaldia longaeva Sukatsheva, sp. nov.; incertae familiae: Paleodicella anomala Sukatsheva, gen. sp. nov.). The assemblage is unique in being absolutely dominated by the generally uncommon family Beraeidae, and particularly by the single species Beraeodes vectensis. Except for a representative of ubiquitous Phryganaeidae, all the caddis-flies recorded apparently had oxy- and psychrophilous larvae confined to springs and cold streams (or else mosses near water), thus indicating the absence of fresh lakes or slow running waters near the depositional water body.

The types and undescribed material of the hymenopteran fossils of the Insect Bed of the Bembridge Marls from the Isle of Wight (UK) are critically revised and studied. A total of 1460 fossils are recorded and attributed to 20 families: Gasteruptiidae s.l. (1); Proctotrupidae (3); Diapriidae (24); Cynipidae (7); Figitidae (6); Pteromalidae (1); Agaonidae (3); Scelionidae (12); Platygastridae (2); Ichneumonidae (32); Braconidae (75); Bethylidae (3); Crabronidae (2); Sphecidae (1); Apidae (2); Scoliidae (1); Tiphiidae (2); Vespidae (4); and Formicidae (1220). Described as new are 51 species, 13 genera, two tribes and two subfamilies. Minimum number of species recorded (either as described species or representing higher taxa with no described species in the assemblage) is 118. The composition of the hymenopteran assemblage is most similar to that of Baltic amber and indicative of a well forested territory, as well as of a humid, equable (aseasonal but not very hot) climate, more typically equable than in the Baltic amber source area, judging from the absence of Aphidiinae and scarcity of aphids.
