This ward was reckoned T. R. E. for two wards; but 27 houses have been destroyed for the castle.
Second ward (called Brugge ward) 48 messuages. 1086, of these 2 are waste; Count Alan 5 burgesses; in the lands of Englishmen 9 messuages.
Third ward 41 messuages. 1086, 11 are waste.
Fourth ward 45 messuages. 1086, 24 are waste.
Fifth ward 50 messuages. 1086, 1 is waste.

The burgh of Grentebrige defended itself T. R. E. for one “hundret.”
