And many years afterward
when we were freed,
it was difficult
to find a way back into the world,
into the beautiful world,
where green grows,
where no person threatens us,
and wants to kill us.
The fear is still in us.
I’ll never succeed at
forgetting that.
Never.
As long as I’m alive,
I’ll think about that,
what they did with us
Hitler and his people.
My wish for the world
is that people pay attention
and go through the world
with open eyes and see
that something like this
never happens again.
Every person should think for themselves,
I have the freedom
to kill another
and to take their life.
