Little Brickhill C. St Mary. Belonged to the Priory of Combwell in Kent. (Said in Paroch. Book 1663 to come from Sr John Gage Kt). ABP Impropriator. R. in Ks books 9£. Certified 27-14-10 (29-10-0 Ecton). Another acct (in Ecton) Certified 29-10-0. 14£ reserved to it by Juxon in the ABPs Lease. Near 40£ a year with the Tythe wood
70 Houses inhabited. 2 noted Shopkeepers, called Muggletonians, go to no place of Worship. Not above 9 or 10 come to Church in a Morning, besides Chn. More, in afternoon, wn the Sermon is now. Many Alehouses. Ch. Wns will not present. Court takes no notice of the ministers Complaints. Minister hath well repaired the Parsonage Ho. Church is much out of Repair, & the Parish will not be able to keep it (in Repair) (up) many years longer. Whole (Sunday) Serviced, except wn called to assist a Neighbour: then once. Prayers on Holydays &in Lent, till there was no Congregation. Cat. on Sundays in Lent: but few Chn sent, & no Servts. 4 or 5 Sacramts in a year, if a Congregation. No Ch Wn hath recd in 13 Years.
