Dear Friends,

We hope you have had a good and restful summer and look forward to meeting you in future Association for European Paediatric Cardiology (AEPC) meetings and via mail.

The minutes from the Business Meeting held at the 46th Annual Meeting of the AEPC in Istanbul are now available on our website, www.AEPC.org.

The aim of the Business Meeting is to discuss important topics and to create an opportunity for interaction between the members and the Council. During the last few years, the numbers of participants at the Business Meeting have decreased. For example, this year in Istanbul, the meeting had approximately 75 attendees. We believe that the low number, to some extent, is a result of the late timing of the meeting – after 6 pm on the Thursday evening. In order to attract a larger number of members to the Business Meeting in London next year, the time schedule for the Business Meeting will be changed to a slot earlier in the day. We will warmly welcome all the members to the Business Meetings to discuss, vote, and interact. At the meeting in 2013, among other topics, we will have a discussion and decision regarding Cardiology in the Young, as we have received a proposal to access our journal online, with a reduction of the cost per member.

Please remember to inform the Secretary-General of any address changes in order to keep our Cardiology in the Young mailing list up-to-date.

During the World Congress in Cape Town in February 2013, the AEPC will arrange two special AEPC sessions during the World Congress, one of them as a joint session with the Japanese Society of Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery.

We hope to meet all AEPC members next spring 2013 in London and in Cape Town. Links to the meetings are found on the APEC website, www.aepc.org.
