The greta interest in which this beetle has been held by Entomologists for so long has renderes an accurate account of its habits very desirable ; but for a very long period–over twenty years–it has singularly eluded more experienced observers. In the Proceedings of the Kansas Academy of Science for 1876, a slight account was published by Mr. H.A. Brous, but from the very small number taken by him, his article was necessarily imperfect.
