The majority of titles flipping in 2026 will be fully open access journals, whilst some titles are flipping to our new open access publishing model for journals, Research Open. Under this model, content classified as ‘research content’ is published open access. All other content types (e.g. Book Reviews) will continue to publish non-open access by default.
For a full list of which article types are considered ‘research content’ by a particular journal, please refer to the ‘Information’ section of the journal’s home page, under ‘Author instructions’.
