The detection of the zoonotic parasite Angiostrongylus cantonensis, the rat lungworm, in the city of Valencia (Spain) in 2021 marked a significant milestone (Galán-Puchades et al., 2022). However, the review conducted in the same year by Gonzálvez and Ruiz de Ybáñez (2022) did not report this finding.
