This goes back to 1699, but it was dormant or a long time and regular accounts have been presented to convocation only since 1956. To give some idea of its popularity and usefulness, the following table indicates the number of subscribers, the number of books in stock and the closing balance for the years when these figures were recorded in the minutes of convocation (Dates in italics indicate that no convocation was held that year).
