Iohannes, permissione divina Cantuariensis archiepiscopus, totius Angliae primas et apostolicae sedis legatus, venerabili fratri nostro Domino Stephano, Dei gratia Londoniensi episcopo, salutem et fraternam in Domino caritatem. Ingens et indissimulata negotiorum necessitas arduorum nedum Anglicanae concernentium Ecclesiae, sed et domini nostri regis ac regni sui statum tranquillitatis et quietis eiusdem accommodo, bonum publicum, ut speramus multipliciter nos urget haec, cum fastidio praelatos et clerum nostrae Cantuariensis provinciae convocare, et ad hoc et faciendum cum frequenti et assidua ipsius regis nostri instantia, breve suum recepimus sub his verbis:

Edwardus, Dei gratia rex Angliae, dominus Hiberniae ac dux Aquitaniae venerabili in Christo patri Iohanni, eadem gratia archiepiscopo Cantuariensi, totius Angliae primati, salutem. Cum super diversis et arduis negotiis, nos et statum regni specialiter contingentibus, parliamentum nostrum apud Westmonasterium, die Lunae proximo post diem Dominicam in medio Quadragesimae proximo futurae [11 March 1336] tenere, et vobiscum ac cum ceteris praelatis, magnatibus et proceribus dicti regni colloquium habere ordinaverimus et tractatum; vobis in fide et dilectione quibus nobis tenemini firmiter iniungendo mandamus, quatenus omni excusatione cessante, dictis die et loco personaliter intersitis, nobiscum et cum ceteris praelatis, magnatibus et proceribus praedictis super dictis negotiis tractaturi, vestrumque consilium impensuri. Et licet singulis episcopis praedictis iniunxerimus, quod quilibet eorum praemunire faciat priores, decanos et capitula ecclesiarum suarum cathedralium, necnon archidiaconos et clerum suarum diocesium quod iidem priores, decani et archidiaconi in propriis personis suis, et quodlibet capitulorum praedictorum per unum, clerusque cuiuslibet dioceseos per duos procuratores, sufficientem potestatem ab ipsis capitulo et clero habentes, dictis die et loco intersint ad faciendum et consentiendum his, quae tune ibidem communi consilio nostro, divina favente dementia, contigerit ordinari; nolentes tamen dicta negotia pro defectu praemunitionum praedictarum, si minus rite factae fuerint, aliqualiter retardari, vobis mandamus rogantes, quatenus praemuniri faciatis abbates, priores, decanos et capitula ecclesiarum cathedralium et etiam archidiaconos, et totum clerum provinciae Cantuariensis, quod iidem abbates, priores, decani et archidiaconi in propriis personis suis, et quodlibet capitulorum praedictorum per unum, clerusque cuiuslibet dioceseos per duos procuratores, sufficientempotestatem ab ipsis capitulo et clero habentes, sint in dicto die ad parliamentum praedictum ad consentiendum his, quae tune ibidem de consilio regni nostri ordinari contigerit, sicut praedictum est; et hoc nullatenus omittatis.
