Summary
From the early fourteenth century until 1965 the convocation of Canterbury was opened with a religious service (usually at St Paul's cathedral) at which a special convocation sermon was preached. Details of those known to us (with the sees of bishops and archbishops who preached indicated in brackets after their names) are given below. An asterisk (*) indicates that the sermon has been published. (Those from 1865 to 1970 are printed in The Chronicle of Convocation.,)
