1 I find it hard to believe that even a generative grammarian can agree that the Astādhyāyi is a complete grammar, yet alone the only one available. Most generative grammarians, I believe, would agree that no complete generative grammar has ever been written for any language. Surely we know more about English grammar than is known about Sanskrit grammar.
