“The fruit of the mandarin trees growing south of the river Huai is sweet,” goes the Chinese parable, “but turns bitter when transplanted to other side.” In his latest book, the editor of Le Christ chinoisis again focusing on the cultural parameters determining the development of Christianity in China. As alluded to in the title, space is in the focus, and its relevance in the formation of human tradition, in particular religion, underlined from the beginning.
