page 56 note 2 Compare Ajax 1365, where ⋯νθ⋯δ' ἵξομαι is used in the metaphorical sense ‘I shall come to this (or that) pass—i.e., I shall die,’ but in Agamemnon's reply (seven lines below; the word ⋯νθ⋯δε is echoed in the sense ‘in this world’ (i.e., either ‘when Ajax was alive’ or Possibly ‘as he lies here now, dead but unburied.’)
