1 My conclusions, properly speaking, hold only of the Italian MSS., but since the specimens published by Dr. Leaf (Journal of Philology, xx. 237 sq.) of the two most important collections outside of Italy —London and Paris—fall under one or another of the families I have constructed, I have given my statements a general character.
