The mineral assemblages in calc-silicates collected from Ballindalloch and Bridge of Avon suggest that the grade of metamorphism is lower than in the areas to the E and W. Mild post-metamorphic warping may be responsible for the production of an apparent ‘thermal anticline’ in the Monadhliath Mountains and the complementary ‘thermal syncline’ in Lower Strathspey.
