This article highlights some of th issues ralsed by technology and primary health care (PHC) in the Western lndustrialized world. The author contends that while technology assessment has been focused mostly on hospital-based technology, the wider scope of PHC demands comprehensive assessment projects that would examine virtually every aspect of public health.
