[The European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters,done at Strasbourg on April 20, 1959, entered into force on June 12,1962. As of July 31, 1978, the Convention was in force for the followingcountries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, the FederalRepublic of Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg,the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey.
[The Additional Protocol will enter into force upon ratificationby at least three members of the Council of Europe who have ratifiedthe Convention. As of July 7, 1978, only Austria had signed theProtocol.]
