[The London Dumping Convention, adopted November 13, 1972, appears at 11 I.L.M. 1294 (1972).
[Paragraphs 4 through 5.10 of the Report of the Third Consultative Meeting have been reproduced, together with Annexes 2 through 7.
[The amendments to Annexes I and II of the Convention, concerning incineration at sea, appear at I.L.M. page 510. These amendments will come into force 100 days after December 1, 1978, which is treated as the date of adoption. This makes March 12, 1979, the effective date. The amendment to the Convention, concerning the settlement of disputes, appears at I.L.M. 517. This amendment will come into force 60 days after being ratified by two-thirds of the contracting parties, i.e . two-thirds of 39 countries.
