1 As Dr. F. W. Thomas considers the title of this tract should be read. The teaching of this tract, in every detail, is contained in a citation of eight lines from Diṅnāga made in Vācaspati's Tātparyaṭīkā, pp. 197–8 of the Bibl. Ind. edition. This citation is identified by Vidyabhusana as coming from the Pramāṇasamuccaya. It would seem to be repeated, perhaps verbatim, in the Hetucakra.
