1 A substantially different revised version of Rip Van Winkle was published in 1930, which Faucett characterizes thus: “He changed the rhythmic profile of several melodies, added to its instrumentation, and significantly altered its form, all in an effort to make the work more recognizably ‘American’” (ix).
