2017 brings some changes to the Editorial Board of Language in Society. We welcome some new members to the Board, which is now larger and more international. To those who are stepping down we offer sincere thanks for their invaluable help, advice and stalwart support. Their contribution to the success of the journal has been immense.
We are delighted to welcome Brian King as Book Reviews Editor, and Judith Irvine as Associate Editor with responsibility for submissions in the field of linguistic anthropology. Judith will replace Angela Reyes. I am very grateful to Angela for the consistently sound expert guidance and advice she has given during the last three years. Angela has been responsible for this Special Issue, which stands as a fitting tribute to the work she has done for Language in Society.
