Caloplaca amarkantakana, a new species in the Caloplaca sideritis group from India

Abstract

Caloplaca amarkantakana Y. Joshi & Upreti, a species closely related to C. pellodella and belonging to the section Sideritis, is described as new to science from India. It is characterized by a ±pruinose lobed olivaceous, grey-brown thallus having a parathecium of isodiametric cells, and by smaller ascospores and conidia.
