Relaxation and Deformation in Glassy Polymers

Abstract

A unified account of the structural relaxation and nonlinear deformation inglassy polymers is presented. The glassy state relaxation is derived fromthe local configurational rearrangements of molecular segments, and thedynamics of hole motion. We then apply this to predict the nonlinearstress-strain relationships.
