A lignicolous ascomycete, Taiwanascus tetrasporus gen. et sp. nov., and a new family Taiwanascaceae

Abstract

Taiwanascus tetrasporus gen. et sp. nov., a lignicolous, superficial, cleistothecial and appendaged ascomycete with unitunicate, 4-spored, deliquescent asci and hyaline, aseptate to 1-septate, filiform ascospores is described and illustrated. It is assigned to a new family, Taiwanascaceae in the unitunicate ascomycetes.
