We welcome Nicole Ernst (pictured above) as the new interim managing editor for Powder Diffraction. Nicole joined ICDD in June 2004 as a bibliographic coordinator. As a bibliographic coordinator, Nicole researches and reviews articles, conference abstracts, patents, and other sources for new powder diffraction data. The information Nicole finds is then reviewed by ICDD editors for possible inclusion into the Powder Diffraction File (PDF). In addition to her PDF responsibilities, she handles copyright compliance and registration for ICDD products. As the phone administrator, she is also the voice you hear when calling ICDD.
Nicole received a BA in music and a MLIS (Master of Library and Information Science) from Rutgers University in New Jersey. She also holds a Professional Librarian’s Certificate from the New Jersey Department of Education and has worked in the library field for nearly 20 years. We are happy Nicole has joined the staff at Powder Diffraction.
We thank Cathyann Colaiezzi for serving as managing editor since March 2004. She was dedicated to journal activities, and served the interests of this journal exceptionally well. In particular, she helped manage the transition from paper processing of manuscripts to a more electronic method. We wish her all the best for the future.
