1 The book is largely free from typographical errors and succeeds in spelling correctly the large number of proper names mentioned with only a few exceptions. One name baffles the author, that of L. G. Salingar, which occurs at least four times in three different forms, all wrong. ‘Albion's England: Pan and his Syrinx’ (p. 48) appears to be a combination of two titles, the second of which is really Pan his Syrinx. For putting the footnotes at the back of the book and failing to provide clues to the pages to which they refer, the publishers should be shot at sunrise.
