Locating the Seat of the Solar Dynamo

By analyzing the hypothesis that the solar dynamo operates in a thin layer at the bottom of the convection zone, we conclude that this hypothesis can fit observational facts only if there is turbulence with the length scale of a few hundred kilometers in and around the dynamo region.
