Dickinson had averred that ‘most of the Sanskrit works…should not be left on the awful shelf’ and craved ‘permission to speak up for Tfce Cloud Messenger!’ – presumably because he had heard the BBC broadcast of 27 July 1968. Why, then, was an ‘old’ opinion allowed to stand ten years later?
