page 32 note 1 Commissioned by the Boston Symphony Orchestra for its 100th Anniversary Season, Maxwell Davies's Symphony No.2 was premièred in Boston on 26 February, with repeat performances on the 27th and 28th. The orchestra then took it to New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles (4, 12, and 14 March respectively).

page 34 note 1 As magnificent as their rendering of Brian Ferneyhough's Second Quartet, broadcast the previous week but in fact recorded at the same time as the Benoliel.
