See if you can find the 8 differences in each set of images.

Innocent discoveries

A scanning electron microscope observation of a fractured surface of multi-walled carbon nanotube-filled, cross-linked high-density polyethylene taken using a JSM-6390 (Jeol) instrument. The original image inspired an underwater-cave scene reflecting the internal exploration instinct of scientists.

Eleftheria Roumeli, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece

February 2015 answer key

Family droplet

A family portrait of magnetic droplets. The image is a composite photograph of ferrofluid droplets on a superhydrophobic surface at varying magnetic field strengths. The “eyes” are reflections from two lamps.

Robin Ras, Department of Applied Physics, Aalto University, Finland

The answers will be in the June 2015 issue.
