See if you can find the 8 differences in each set of images.

Skyrmion as sunflower

The topology of a computationally simulated magnetic skyrmion in a nanomagnet bears a similarity to a sunflower. The small yellow vectors represent the local magnetization vectors.

Jiamian Hu, University of Wisconsin–Madison, USA.

Breaking away from the weld platinum

The platinum used for nanoscale welding of uranium oxide fuel breaks free from its constraints during neutron irradiation to form spherical sculptures. Scanning electron microscopy was used to capture the image.

Michele Conroy, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, USA.
