Table 1 of Eniang et al. (Reference Eniang, Ebin, Nchor, Agba, Gideon, Amori and Luiselli2017) states incorrectly that the data presented are the numbers of buffalo per km of transect recorded during each study period at each of the study sites.

Table 1 Numbers of forest buffalo Syncerus caffer nanus sighted in four areas of the Cross River National Park in Nigeria (Fig. 1) during both recce and line transect surveys, by study site, study period and habitat type.

The numbers presented are the total numbers of buffalo recorded per study period at each of the study sites, and the corrected table is provided here.
