From the medieval era to the Jasmine Revolution and beyond, this interdisciplinary series encompasses the diverse cultures, peoples and faiths of the Maghreb: ‘Land of the Setting Sun’. Uniquely focusing on Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Libya, Mauritania and the Sahara and Western Sahara, this series sees the Maghreb as the centre, not periphery, of cultural, political and historical change. The series focuses on historical, political science, sociological, anthropological and interdisciplinary methodologies. Books exploring works of archaeology, religion, art history, linguistics, literature and film that address issues pertinent to the history, politics and society of the Maghreb are also encouraged.
