[Fo. 1] I begann my readinge on Mondaye 3 Auguste 1607 Anno 5 Jacobi regnis–in the middle temple.
I had benchers assistants at my beginninge Sir Henry Montague knight, Recorder of London and of the Kinges counsaile by patent, with a clause to be against the Kinge for the City of London if question growe betweene them.
Mathewe Dale a Dubble Reador, and one of the two judges of the Sheriffs Cort of London.
Thomas Pagitt a Dobble Reador and of the Countey of Northampton dwellinge at Walgrove.
Frances Walron, a single Reador, dwellinge in Thistleworth in Middlesex.
George Writnighton, a single Reador.
I had for my Cubbardmen assigned
Lawrence Hyde of the Countey of Middlesex.
Wil Swantone of the Countey of Dorset. Fraunceys Harvy of the Countey of Northampton.
Edward Cason of the Countey of Hertford.
All which were attendant the first weeke, and as they departed there came in their places
Robart Smith of Suffolk.
Anthony Benn of Surrey, then Reador of Newe Inn.
I ended my readinge on friday the 14 of August in respect the plage much increased, the certificatt beinge 77 that weeke of the plage.
