Summary
Chapter 20 opens by asking readers to reflect on the most useful and the most surprising things that they’ve learned from the book. The chapter reviews five of the book’s critical take-home messages: (1) Have a cooperative conversation. (2) Value the people you are talking with. (3) Organize your information for your audience. (4) Incomplete is not incorrect. (5) Have fun! This chapter’s Closing Worksheet asks readers to practice their demonstrations with a helpful audience who will answer ten questions to further improve each demonstration (e.g., how fun the central activity is, the clarity of its explanations, the relevance to people’s lives, and ultimately what someone learns from it).
